TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (29-11) easily handled the UT Arlington Mavericks (13-24) to earn a 9-3 midweek victory on Wednesday night at Hi Corbett Field.
In his first game back from an injury that cost him a month of playing time,
Brendan Summerhill crushed the first pitch he saw for a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning. He finished the night 2-for-3 with a run scored, a double and a home run, two walks, and a pair of RBI.

Maddox Mihalakis, catcher
Adonys Guzman, and right fielder
Gunner Geile all contributed multiple hits while combining to drive in six of the Wildcats nine runs.
Starting pitcher
Raul Garayzar posted three quality innings of work, but did not factor into the decision. Sophomore
Bryce McKnight (1-0) earned his first career win after working two scoreless innings of relief across the sixth and seventh.Â
Michael Hilker Jr. (2.0 IP) and
Eric Orloff (1.0 IP) also both logged scoreless relief appearances.
