The Sports Marketing Association (S.M.A.) works directly with Arizona Athletics and ASUA to market athletics' events to the U of A student body and the Tucson community. The club helps to promote each of Arizona's 20 NCAA Division-I sports, with particular emphasis on football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, gymnastics, women's soccer, softball and baseball. S.M.A. members assist in volunteering during the game-day events as well as executing in-game promotions.

The Sports Marketing Association (SMA), founded in 1995, provides University of Arizona students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry. Members work closely with Arizona Athletics to promote all NCAA Division I sports at the University of Arizona by assisting the marketing department with game day promotions. SMA members will have opportunities to learn from industry professionals through various networking events including but not limited to regular meetings and an annual career fair.
The importance of a strong network is essential in the sports industry and SMA strives to provide events to our members in order to do so, such as our yearly Out-of-State networking trip, trips and strong ties to the Diamondbacks, the Coyotes, the Suns, and the Roadrunners, Sports Career Immersion Day, and much more.
In addition, our club hosts numerous social events, such as intermural, watch parties, group outings to Arizona Athletic events. An important part of SMA is also philanthropy and we have volunteered throughout the Tucson community with Eller Make A Difference Day, and our own events with Diamond Children’s Hospital and Ben’s Bells.
SMA meets bi-weekly in the Dunlap Stadium Club in Arizona Stadium, where We provide attendees with first hand career advice, stories, and sports world knowledge from speakers that have professional experience in a wide variety of sports fields. SMA also offers many internship opportunities to its members through Arizona Athletics and local professional teams.
