TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (2-3) picked up their second consecutive run-rule victory on Friday night, this time an 11-0 win over the San Diego Toreros (0-5) in seven innings.
Right-handers
Collin McKinney and
Casey Hintz combined on a six-hit shutout of the Toreros; the duo issued just one walk, struck out four, and inducing three inning-ending double plays. Hintz earned the win to move to 1-0 on the year.
Every member of the Wildcats starting lineup collected a hit, with seven piling up multiple base knocks and six total extra-base hits. Center fielder
Aaron Walton, left fielder
Easton Breyfogle, and shortstop
Mason White all drove in multiple runs and combined to account for eight of the Wildcats 11 runs.
Walton swatted his first home run as a Wildcat in the fourth inning, while Breyfogle hit the second of his career and his first at Hi Corbett Field in the sixth inning.
