Arizona Drops College Classic Finale to No. 3 Tennessee, 5-1

HOUSTON, Texas — The Arizona Wildcats (7-4) fell to the No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers (11-0) on Sunday morning at Daikin Park in the championship game of the Astros Foundation College Classic.

Starting pitcher Smith Bailey, a true freshman, excelled in his third collegiate start against one of the most dangerous lineups in the nation. The right-hander worked 5.1 innings, allowed just two runs, and struck out six while issuing zero walks. Bailey was saddled with the loss, moving to 0-1 on the year.

Arizona's lone run came from a two-out rally in the bottom of the second inning; catcher Adonys Guzman dropped a double into center field and was driven in three pitches later on a triple roped to the wall in left center by Easton Breyfogle.
