TUCSON, ARIZ. — Junior
Paige Armstrong took home weekly conference honors this week after her strong performance against No. 17 ASU on Saturday, Feb. 8. Armstrong secured two personal bests at the meet in Tempe, finishing first in the 100 Back with Arizona's top time of the season (52.89) and second in the 200 Back (1:56.96).
In addition to her top individual times in the 100 and 200 Back events, Armstrong also played a crucial role in Arizona's second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay (1:37.44).
This is Armstrong's first time receiving a Big 12 award. Armstrong shared Swimmer of the Week honors with ASU's Caroline Bentz.
This season, Armstrong holds Arizona's best time in the 100 Back (52.89) and second-best times in the 200 Back (1:56.96) and 200 Individual Medley (2:01.54). With these times, Armstrong holds an NCAA "B" Cut in the 100 Back and is just .25 seconds shy of a "B" Cut in the 200 Back.
