TUCSON, Ariz. – Malia Rausch was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team, a selection that honors the achievement of outstanding student-athletes. The CSC announced the teams Tuesday morning.
Rausch, a junior majoring in neuroscience & cognitive science, has seen immense academic and athletic success this year.
In the postseason, she was named to the 2025 All-Big 12 First Team and was a three-time individual finalist at the 2025 Big 12 Championships.
Rausch scored 77 points at Big 12 Championships, taking third in the 500 free (4:44.48), third in the 1650 free (16:36.77, Arizona season best) and seventh in the 200 free (1:47.07).
During the regular season, Rausch also earned first place in the 500 free against a top-ranked UCLA program and swam Arizona's season best time and earned fourth place in the 500 free (4:43.80) at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational.
In addition to these accomplishments, Rausch has also demonstrated this work ethic in the classroom. As a junior, she has been named to the University of Arizona's Dean's List With Distinction twice (2023-2024, 2024-2025) and last year was named as a 2024 Arizona Athletics Academic Champion.
Throughout her time at Arizona, Rausch has also maintained a stellar 4.0 GPA while competing at a high level.
