TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona (9-1) lost its first game of the season, 2-3, to No. 15 Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at the Bear Down Fiesta.
The Wildcats tallied five hits with freshman
Emily Schepp leading the team with a pair of hits.
Arkansas struck first with two runs in the first inning on an RBI fielder's choice and an error.
Arizona scored one in the second inning to make it a one-run game. Schepp drove in
Blaise Biringer on a RBI double for the Cats' first run.
After both teams went down in order in the third inning, the Razorbacks scored their third run on a solo home run in the fourth.
The Wildcats scored their second run on an RBI sacrifice fly from
Carlie Scupin in the fifth, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.

Miranda Stoddard (2-1) took the loss after pitching the first 4.0 innings and allowing Arkansas' three runs on four hits.
Aissa Silva entered in relief to pitch the final 3.0 innings, allowing three hits and no runs.
