TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona Swimming & Diving opened the season against in-state rivals NAU, GCU and ASU (No. 6 Men, No. 21 Women).
The women fell to No. 21 ASU 201-80 but came out on top against GCU 184-97 and defeated NAU 201-79.
The men ultimately fell to No. 6 ASU 202-79 but defeated GCU 197.50-82.50.
The Cats held their own at this in-state battle, bringing home 5 first place spots and 21 top three finishes. The women's side was led by Brooke Earley, who earned a first-place finish in the 1M diving event, and Eleni Gewalt, who earned the meet's best time in the women's 50 BR with a 28.09 finish. On the men's side, Bryan Wong, Daniel Young and Gage DuBois lead the Wildcats, each taking a top spot in one event.
