Danny Martinez serves as the director of operations for the softball team. He joined the staff in 2024 after two years as the assistant director of digital marketing for Arizona.Â
Martinez transitioned to the role of assistant director of digital marketing in summer of 2021 after spending 13 years as a member of the department's communication staff. Martinez served as the the Sports Information Director for the volleyball and softball programs while overseeing men's and women's swimming and diving as well as beach volleyball.
Martinez served in the Communications office since joining as a student assistant in 2008. Martinez served as the primary contact for Arizona Softball from 2011-2021 and added volleyball, swimming and diving and beach volleyball when he was hired to the full-time staff in 2014.
Martinez serves as the P.A. announcer at Hillenbrand Stadium and a play-by-play announcer on select Arizona Wildcats live streams.
A Tucson, Ariz. native, Martinez attended Sabino High School and the University of Arizona.
