TUCSON, Ariz. – Jett Kinder's journey at Arizona isn't ending; it's entering a new chapter. Following the conclusion of his collegiate career this spring, Arizona Track & Field head coach Andrew Dubs has named Kinder assistant coach overseeing the Wildcats' horizontal jumps and multis program.
Kinder earned his master's degree in Real Estate Development this spring before transitioning from student-athlete to coach. He capped his time in Tucson by winning the 2026 Big 12 javelin title and qualifying for the NCAA West First Round. Throughout his time at Arizona, Kinder established himself as both a conference champion and a respected leader within the Wildcats program.
"I could not be more excited to add Jett Kinder to our coaching staff," said Dubs. "Coach Jett is a very proud alum of our program and a former Big 12 champion.
"During his time as a member of our team, he always exemplified great leadership qualities and an ability to teach and mentor his fellow teammates."
"Throughout this process, it became clear that Coach Jett possesses a true passion and natural coaching instinct, and that he is the best choice to lead our multis and horizontal jumps group in this next chapter. I could not be more excited for our student-athletes to get to work with Coach Jett."
Kinder joined Arizona after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Oregon, where he emerged as one of the Pac-12's top multi-event athletes. He finished runner-up in the decathlon at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships, won the javelin at the 2023 Mt. SAC Relays and scored three times at the Pac-12 Championships with top-six finishes in the decathlon and javelin.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue my journey at Arizona," said Kinder. "After two great years as a student-athlete, I'm excited to help carry on the culture that was instilled in me and develop the future of Arizona Track & Field. This opportunity allows me to begin my dream of coaching at the highest level, and I couldn't be more excited that it means staying at the University of Arizona. Bear Down and Go Cats!"
