Santa Clara scored one to open the game on a solo home run. Arizona answered in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Devyn Netz to tie the game at 1-1.

In the third, Stoddard extended the Cats' lead with a solo home run – her 14th of the season.

The Broncos plated four in the top of the third to cut into Arizona's lead. With the bases loaded, a two-run double allowed Santa Clara to make it 6-3. Then, the Broncos brought the game within one run with a two-RBI single up the middle.

The Wildcats added three runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend their lead to 9-5. Altmeyer drove in two runs with a double to left center. Emily Schepp drove in Altmeyer with an RBI groundout.
