TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 15 Wildcats won their third game of the Bear Down Fiesta, 10-1, in five innings against Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
Jenna Sniffen and
Miranda Stoddard both homered in the mercy rule victory. Stoddard's home run was her fifth home run in two days.
The Cats struck first for two runs in the first inning.
Kaiah Altmeyer scored on a wild pitch and Stoddard drove in the second run on a sacrifice fly.
Arizona's offense exploded for seven runs in the second to bust open the game with a 9-0 lead. Sniffen and Stoddard hit their home runs in the inning – a solo shot from Sniffen and a three-run blast from Stoddard.
Sydney Stewart drew a bases loaded walk and
Devyn Netz hit a two-RBI single to round out the inning.
Logan Cole scored Arizona's 10th run of the game in the third inning off an error from Fullerton.
Fullerton scored one run in the top of the fourth on an RBI single but
Saya Swain closed the door on the Titans.
Aissa Silva picked up her second win in the circle this season, going 3.0 innings, striking out four batters and giving up the lone run to Fullerton.
Saya Swain entered in relief in the fourth to close out the game and struck out three Titans.
