BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 21 Arizona lost the second game of the series to No. 19 California, 7-6 in nine innings, on Saturday.

Allie Skaggs and
Tayler Biehl both homered for the Wildcats. Skaggs led the team with two hits and three RBI.

The Wildcats scored two on a two-run home run from Skaggs – her eighth homer of the season – to open the game.

In the third inning, Skaggs drove in Arizona's third run of the game with an RBI single for a three-run lead.

Arizona added two more runs in the fourth inning on a two-run home run from Biehl – her second career home run – for five unanswered runs.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Golden Bears walked in a run to avoid a shutout. Then, Cal hit three home runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and force extra innings.

Both teams held each other scoreless in the eighth inning, but Cal walked it off on a single to win the game in the ninth.

Miranda Stoddard (2-5) picked up the loss, going 7.0 innings and allowing five runs on nine hits. Stoddard started the game and was relieved by
Aissa Silva in the sixth before reentering in the seventh. Silva pitched 1.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits.
