Swann Leads Cats in 84-60 Win Over Grambling State

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Women's Basketball improved to 6-1 on the season with a dominant victory 84-60 over Grambling State Saturday night in McKale Center.

The win was highlighted by five Wildcats scoring double digits on the night. The Cats were led in scoring by guard Lauryn Swann, who put up 17 points and six rebounds. All but two of those points came in the fourth quarter. Jada Williams followed Swann with 13 points, four rebounds and four steals of her own.

Paulina Paris also put up a great offensive performance for Arizona, tallying 10 points and 7 rebounds.

After trailing 36-35 at the start of the second half, Arizona outscored Grambling State 49-24 in the final two periods. This scoring effort was enhanced by the Cats' shooting accuracy; Arizona shot 45.6% overall (22.2% from beyond the arc) compared to Grambling's 31.1% overall.

Despite having four lead changes in the game, the Wildcats led for 37:41, bolstered by the 37 points scored from the Wildcat bench.

Defensively, the Cats tallied 13 steals and scored 25 points off of turnovers. Williams and Skylar Jones led the Wildcats in steals with four each.

The Cats will now head to Palm Springs, California to compete in the Acrisure Holiday Invitational on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
