Gianna Christiansen recorded her second career brace and scored the game-winning goal for the Cats.
Arizona came out strong with
Megan Chelf taking the Wildcats' first shot of the match in the sixth minute. Christiansen scored Arizona's first goal of the match in the 12th minute on an assist from
Narissa Fults. Just under 20 minutes later,
Nicole Dallin found the back of the net in the 31st minute to score her seventh goal of the season.
UCF opened the second half with a goal in the 47th minute to make it a 2-1 match. The Knights tied the match with their second goal in the 62nd minute. In the 81st minute, Christiansen scored her second goal of the match and gave the Cats the advantage on a penalty kick. Arizona held on to the lead for the final nine minutes to win their ninth match of the season.
The Cats tallied five shots – all on target – and limited the Knights to just two shots in the first half. Overall, Arizona totaled nine shots and UCF ended the match with 12 shots. Although the Knights out-shot the Wildcats 10-4 in the second half, Christiansen's game-winning penalty kick was the difference maker for Arizona.
