TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 9 Wildcats (15-4) completed the weekend sweep with an 11-0 run-rule win over Loyola Chicago (5-9) on Sunday afternoon.
Arizona scored 11 runs on 12 hits, with 11 RBI. Four Wildcats had two hits and
Paige Dimler hit her second home run of the weekend.
Carlie Scupin led the Cats with three RBI and hit her ninth double of the season.
Dimler put Arizona on the board with her solo home run in the second inning.
A pair of RBI singles, a two-RBI double, and a two-RBI triple helped Arizona score seven runs in an explosive third inning. With
Giulia Koutsoyanopulos in scoring position,
Sharlize Palacios hit a sacrifice fly to score Koutsoyanopulos. Scupin hit a two-RBI double and
Izzy Pacho followed with an RBI single.
Amber Toven hit her first career triple and
Hannah Martinez hit an RBI single to add three more runs for Arizona.
Arizona tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning from Scupin,
Bailey Thompson, and Koutsoyanopulos.
Devyn Netz threw a shutout to improve to 6-0 on the season. She only allowed one hit and struck out four batters.
