Arizona Soccer Outlasts TCU 4-3

Tucson, Ariz. – Arizona improved to 6-1 on the season with a 4-3 win against TCU on Saturday night. The Wildcats built a 4-1 lead late in the match before holding on for their third-straight home victory.

Arizona Goals
2' –  Brooke Wilson
61' – Samantha Falasco
78' – Jill Aguilera
79' – Jill Aguilera

Plays of the Match – Double Trouble

78' – In the 78th minute of game play Jill Aguilera sent a rocket flying straight back into the net from just outside the box. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Aguilera came back only seconds later to shoot one straight past the goalkeeper off a pass from forward Jada Talley. The goals were ultimately the match winners.

Woman of the Match – Jill Aguilera
Forward Jill Aguilera shined on the pitch tonight, with two stunning back to back goals. Aguilera has now scored four goals in the first seven games of the season and equaled her season-best total of four goals set last year.

By the Numbers
200 – The win against TCU marked the 200th career victory for the Wildcat Head Coach Tony Amato. He became the most winningest coach in Wildcat history in 2018 and isn't looking to let go of that title any time soon.

2 – Two seems to be forward Brooke Wilson's lucky number as it is the second time she has scored in the first two minutes of the match. Against TCU, she got the Wildcats off to a great start with a textbook shot past the keeper.

Quotable
Head Coach Tony Amato
On the game overall...
"in college soccer you got to find ways to win games and, credit to our group for doing that. I thought in the first half there were some little things, from doing the grinding bit to the competitiveness stuff that I wanted to improve on...I thought we did in it the second half. There were some soccer things that we need to do a better job on...but proud of the team to find a way to win, ultimately that's what we are trying to do."
