Arizona Drops Conference Opener to Colorado in Double Overtime

Tucson, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats dropped their Pac-12 conference opener to Colorado 2-1 in double overtime on Friday night. The match was tied throughout the majority of night but Colorado scored at 106' to improve to 9-1 on the year. The loss moves the Wildcats to 6-2 on the season overall.

Play of the Match – Massive Save
Wildcat freshman Goalkeeper Hope Hisey made a high diving save in the 31' of game play. With the shot coming her way, she tipped it over the cross bar to keep Arizona ahead 1-0.
 

Woman of the Match – Hope Hisey 
Hisey, who made her first career Pac-12 start, is the Wildcat Woman of the Match. For the night, she ended up recording six saves, a new career high. 

 

By the Numbers
106 – 106 minutes were played in the match against Colorado. This was the first time the Wildcats played in overtime this season. 

5 – Five Arizona players played in all 106 minutes of the match, the longest any player has recorded for one match this season. The girls who made it through the entire match are, Hope Hisey, Kelcey Cavarra, Sabrina Enciso, Hallie Pearson, and Samantha Falasco.

The Wildcats have a big week ahead, playing two nationally ranked Pac-12 teams. Arizona will host UCLA on Thursday Oct. 3 at 7 p.m MST, and then, USC on Saturday Oct 6. at 12 p.m. MST.
