Early Goals Give Wildcats 3-2 Win Over Utah

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's soccer team defeated Utah by a score of 3-2 in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday evening. The win moves Arizona's record to 7-4-3 (4-2-1 Pac-12).

Charlotte Brascia opened the scoring followed by a left-footed effort from Jill Aguilera and another from Cali Crisler. The Wildcats had their first two goals in under five minutes.

Aguilera was credited the assist on Crisler's goal, giving her one goal and one assist on the night. Gabi Stoian and Kennedy Kieneker earned the assists on the other two goals.

The Wildcats are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 22nd in Boulder, Colo. where they will face the Buffaloes to close out their weekend.

1' – Brascia picked out the lower left corner of the frame on a pass from Stoian to give the Wildcats an early lead.

5' – Kieneker dished to Aguilera who followed suit with a goal of her own, sliding the ball past the keeper into the side netting with her left foot.

19' – Crisler got her first of the season as she beat a defender and rang one off the right-hand post into the back of the net. Aguilera was credited with the assist.

26' – Arizona got a chance down low in the box but it was whistled for a foul.

29' – Utah earned a corner kick and with it, a header towards the turf hard and low, but Lainey Burdett scooped it up.

32' – Burdett made another save off another header as she dove to her right and caught the ball.

37' – Crisler won the ball at midfield and chipped it over the top of the defense, but Hannah Clifford was ruled offside.

39' – Jada Talley dribbled through the defense but the ball was poked away right before she passed.

45' – Clifford dribbled through the defense and fired a shot that forced the Utah GK to punch out a save.

58' – Stoian got a ball out side on the right, but she fouled and possession was transferred to the Utes.

59' – Aguilera crossed from the end-line but the Utah goalkeeper dove on the ball.

62' – Burdett made a trademark big save off a powerful shot inside the box to keep the Cats on top.

65' – Burdett again stopped a driven shot from close range to preserve her clean sheet so far.

66' – Burdett made another save, diving to her right. The Utes were knocking but Burdett wouldn't let them in.

68' – Brascia was given a yellow card.

69' – Bryanna Duckett took a crack from the top of the box but it went high.

75' – Burdett got her ninth save of the evening as she punched out a shot headed for the upper right corner of the frame.

77' – Utah got one back off a free kick, Arizona still led 3-1.

80' – Crisler got a breakaway chance but her shot was right at the keeper and saved.

87' – A shot went bar-down to beat Burdett for the Utes second goal.
