DeGracie-Bailey Sets All-Time Assist Record as Cats Draw at No. 16 Texas Tech

Tucson, ARIZ. – Arizona tied No. 16 Texas Tech on Friday night in Lubbock, Texas, with a score of 2-2. Senior Jaden DeGracie-Bailey earned the assist on the Wildcats second goal, making her the all-time leader in assists for the Wildcats, passing Mallory Miller (02-05) and setting the new record at 20 career assists. Arizona goals came from senior Paige Crouch and junior Cali Crisler.

"Our team worked really hard and competed toinght," said head coach Tony Amato. "It was a tough game and we showed we are up for the challenge. We took a step forward tonight in our team development which is exactly what we set out to do on this trip. I am proud of our players for their effort tonight. They showed that this is important to them and that will go a long way this season." 

Gabi Stoian got the first shot of the game in the 6th minute, a rolling shot which was gathered by TTU's goalkeeper Lauren Watson.

In the 12th-15th minutes, Arizona's Jaden DeGracie-Bailey, Lexe Selman, and Paige Crouch all took shots from outside the 18-yd. box that were saved by Watson.

At the 22-minute mark, Texas Tech's Jade King took a shot from the left side of the goal that went easily into the hands of Meredith Reinhardt.

Paige Crouch scored in the 28th minute after a TTU defender made a poor pass backwards that Crouch won in a scrum with the goalkeeper. This was Crouch's first goal of the season, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.

In the 32nd minute, TTU was awarded a yellow card for a foul on Hannah Stevens.

At the 35-minute mark, King earned her second shot of the game but she placed it over the head of Reinhardt and over the crossbar.

On a dangerous play for TTU, Cassie Conarty took a crack that went into the outside netting in the 43rd minute.

As the second half started up, Gabi Stoian took a free kick from just outside the box in the 50th minute that rolled into the wall. Erica Stephan's follow-up shot went wide.

In the 57th minute, TTU won a free kick at midfield that created a chance for the Red Raiders. Reinhardt swallowed-up the deep ball.

At the 60-minute mark, Jade King took a shot on frame that forced Meredith Reinhardt to make a diving save across the mouth of the goal. She did not allow a rebound.

TTU scored in the 65th minute, knocking in a loose ball off a free kick on the right side of the 6-yd. box. Goal credit went to Demi Koulizakis, her first of the season.

In the 76th minute, Maddie Bennett took a shot from the top of the 18-yd. box that was blocked. The Wildcats scored on the resultant throw-in, as Cali Crisler knocked in a volley from DeGracie's throw-in. This is Crisler's second goal of the season, and it put the Wildcats up 2-1.

In the 80th through 87th minute, TTU poured on the pressure, taking four shots, forcing Reinhardt to make two key saves.

At the 89-minute mark, Texas Tech's Rebekah O'Brien scored from the left side of the field, almost on the touch line. This is her first of the season.

In the first overtime period, not much offensive action occurred and the score remained level.

Gabi Stoian got a chance at goal in the 104th minute which went straight into the hands of TTU's Watson.

Jade King got another chance for TTU in the 105th minute that she put just within fingertip-reach for Reinhardt, who got the save by jumping back towards her line.

The match ended with a draw, 2-2, as Arizona tied No. 16 Texas Tech in their third game of the season.

Arizona is back in action on Friday, Sep. 2 in Tempe, Ariz. to take on Denver at 7:00 p.m. PST.
