Todd Daniels is a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist with 25 years of experience working with elite collegiate, Olympic, and professional athletes. He has completed certificates of competency in Vestibular Therapy and as an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer. He is trained in Postural Restoration, Functional Movement Screen, Muscle Activation Technique, Advanced Muscle Integration Technique,Dry Needling, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Kinesio Taping.
Currently, he is an Athletic Trainer Program Coordinator for Banner University Medical Group in Tucson, Arizona where he provides clinical support for the University of Arizona Intercollegiate Athletic Department. He has international experience with USA Diving, the United States Ski Team, and United States Soccer Federation. Prior to his role with Banner and University of Arizona, Daniels spent 11 years working with professional hockey players in the NHL, AHL, and WHL. He started his career in soccer; teams have included the 2002 and 2005 NCAA Division 1 women’s soccer champions, University of Portland; and the US Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Teams.
Sports vision has been a special interest area for Daniels since 2002 when he began collaborating with Nike as a consultant on projects including the Hi-vis soccer ball, MaxSight contact lenses, Vapor Strobe Specs, and Sensory Station. He advanced sports vision in the athletic training community by serving as the official Liaison of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Directors to the AOA and was awarded the Eagle Award in 2014 from the AOA Sports Vision Section. Daniels has lectured extensively on sports vision to both the athletic training and optometry communities on topics including eye injury care, concussion management, and performance enhancement.
