Sebastian Pineda Gordillo

Sebastian Pineda Gordillo joined the Arizona Soccer staff in August 2023 as an assistant coach.

In his first season with the Cats, he helped guide the squad to six victories, three of which came in conference play. Arizona drew, 1-1, with No. 11 USC during league competition. With Pineda Gordillo's assistance, eight different players scored goals and goalkeeper Hope Hisey was the 46th pick in the NWSL Draft by the Kansas City Current. She was the second player in program history to be chosen in the draft.

Pineda Gordillo joined the coaching staff of FC Tucson in Feb. 2022 as Head Coach of the Pro Academy and as Assistant Coach of the First Team during its USL League One campaign. He spent time playing for FC Tucson as well, competing for the club in 2015 and 2017.

Pineda Gordillo joined FC Tucson’s staff after serving as an assistant coach at Duquesne University for one year. He assisted Duquesne to a 10-7-2 finish in the 2021 regular season. He previously was the assistant coach at his alma mater, NAIA institution Graceland University, for three seasons. He assisted Graceland to the Atlantic 10 Championship and helped guide the Dukes to three consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament appearances.

His professional playing career included time representing FC Tucson, OKC Energy and the Austin AzTex.

Pineda Gordillo graduated from Graceland in 2015 with his degree in business administration and sports management. He added a master’s in sports management from Johan Cruyff Institute/University of Barcelona in 2018.
