As a freshman, Erica Blasberg emerged as one of Arizona’s all-time greats on the course and she collected the hardware to prove it. She was named the NCAA Freshman of the Year, the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, Pac-10 Player of the Year and was recognized as the Golfstat Cup winner for the nation’s lowest scoring average. She was the first golfer in conference history to win the player of the year and freshman of the year honors in the same season. Erica, who won twice as a freshman and finished the season with nine-consecutive top-10 finishes, placed third at the NCAA Championships. She followed up a sensational freshman campaign with another strong year in 2004, which brought in second-straight NGCA All-America honor and a Pac-10 All-Academic nod. During that sophomore season, Erica was the top Arizona finisher in every tournament she played. After completing her sophomore season, she left Arizona to pursue a career in professional golf.
