2007 NCAA Champions 800 Freestyle Relay Team
The Arizona men’s swimming and diving team defended its national title in the 800 freestyle relay with another record-breaking performance. Jean Basson, Nicolas Nilo, Adam Ritter and Darian Townsend capped off night two of the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., with one of the best relays in school history. The quartet posted a time of 6:14.14 to establish new pool, school and NCAA records in the event. Between them, Jean, Nicolas, Adam and Darian would garner 60 All-American accolades in their illustrious careers. In the process, the Wildcats went on to earn a third-place team finish at the NCAA Championships in 2007, as eight men’s swimmers accumulated 33 All-American honors over the course of the three day meet, while breaking two NCAA and seven school records.
