Paul Hatcher
An outstanding center and long-snapper, he often played 60 minutes per game, and often against larger opponents, opening huge holes for UA's "Cactus Comet" Art Luppino. He was three times First Team All Conference and All America mention, and was picked for the Colliers Sophomore All America team. Twice team captain, in his senior year he was named team MVP, Bobcats Outstanding Senior Athlete, and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was selected for the 1957 East-West Shrine Game, playing almost the entire contest and was subsequently drafted by the NFL Chicago Bears. He also lettered in track and field, in the throwing events, in 1954 and 1956. Before entering the University, he was named All Navy in football for three years.
