Jake Arnold HOF
In the spring of 2006, the headline for the morning paper read- "An unsuspecting Champion- Arnold take Decathlon Title" and with that, Jake Arnold became only the third Wildcat in school history to win a NCAA decathlon championship. Since that day, Jake added to his title and went on to become one of the most successful track and field athletes in Arizona history, claiming multiple conference and national titles. In 2006 and 2007, Arnold won the Pac-10 Championship in the decathlon and also claimed the NCAA outdoor Championship in that event both years. For the indoor portion of his career, Jake won two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation heptathlon titles and finished second at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championships. In addition, he earned All-America accolades at the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon in 2006 and 2007 and was named the MPSF Male Athlete of the year. He still holds the school record for the heptathlon and decathlon.
