As a member of the Arizona team, she became an Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Individual Champion in 1983. Julie was also a member of the 1981 Duet AIAW Synchronized Swimming Championship Team, the 1981 Trio AIAW Synchronized Swimming Championship Team, a 1983 AIAW Synchronized Swimming Team Routine Champion and the 1984 Trio AIAW Synchronized Swimming Championship Team. Julie is also a member of The University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame as both the 1981 and 1984 Synchronized Swimming Teams won National Championships.
