TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics has been selected to participate in the NCAA Tempe Regional after finishing the regular season with a 195.583 NQS and placing fifth at the Big 12 Championships.
Arizona Gymnastics will make its seventh straight regional appearance and 37th appearance all-time. This season, the GymCats finished fourth in the Big 12 regular season and picked up conference wins against Arizona State and West Virginia. Arizona placed fifth at the Big 12 Championships last weekend.
Abigayle Martin and
Emma Strom both earned all-conference recognition. Martin was honored on the All-Big 12 beam and all-around teams while Strom earned a spot on the All-Big 12 floor team.
Gianna Lenczner was named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the Big 12 Championships.
The Wildcats will compete against host Arizona State in the play-in meet on Wednesday, April 1 at 2 p.m. MST. The winner of the play-in meet will take on 3-seed Forida, 14-seed California, and Penn State in the second round of the Tempe Regional on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. MST.
