Women's Golf Leads The Westbrook Invitational Headed Into Final Round

PEORIA, Ariz. — Arizona Women's Golf currently leads the Westbrook Invitational after day one. The Wildcats finished at 22-under par through 36 holes. The Cats shot 12-under par in round one, followed by a 10-under round two. They have a two shot lead as they head into tomorrow's final round. 

Sara Vitasek shot a 64 in the first round to tie the record for the lowest round in Arizona Women's Golf history.

Nena Wongthanavimok led the charge for the Cats after back to back rounds of 68. She is currently in third place individually. Charlotte Back posted rounds of 71 and 68 to bring her inside the top ten.  

Kinsley Ni, competing as an individual, had a pair of 69s to put her in a tie for sixth.  Maria Cabanillas ended the day at 1-under par and Julia Misemer finished at 1-over par. 

The Cats played the par fours 7-under par, which is three shots better than the next best team. They also had the second most birdies out of any team on day one. They took advantage of the par fives by playing them 18-under par in total. 

They will tee off for the final round at 8:30am MST, as they look to bring home the title
