Three Cats Finish Inside The Top 20 At Sahalee Players Championship

The Arizona men's golf finishes in seventh place at the Sahalee Players Championship in their first tournament of the season. Arizona's 54-hole score of 888 was 24-over par, with the scores much higher in the final round than in the second round yesterday.

Last year, Arizona opened the season with a third place finish at the Sahalee Players Championship.

The Wildcats were led by Filip Jakubcik, who finished tied for eighth at 1-over par for the tournament after a 1-under par round on Sunday. Senior Zach Pollo finished inside the top 15 and posted a 75 in the final round. In his Wildcat debut, Dillon Dean picked up a top 20 finish and ended the tournament 4-over par.

Tianyi Xiong shot his best round of the tournament with a 78. Connor Hamm finished 14-over par, after his group was assessed a three stroke penalty for pace of play. Freshman William Wistrand, competing individually, finished tied for 31st with a 78 in his final round.

Looking ahead, the Cats will head out to Illinois for the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on Sept. 15-17 at Shoreacres.
