TUCSON, Ariz. – Mason Nyboer, Tate Bahti, Miles Bottai, Alyssa Schwengel, Brooke Earley and Malia Rausch were honored as members of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for their athletic and academic achievements this season.
In order to be eligible for these honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior, or senior, and have competed in five competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet. The Division 1 All-District teams were announced Tuesday.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America selection round. The CSC will announce honorees for first-, second, and third-team Academic All-America on April 23.
Nyboer, a physiology & medical Sciences major, has had an excellent season. Mason placed 5th in the 1650 free at the Big 12 Championships (15:12.08, NCAA B Cut), earning All-Big 12 Second Team honors. Also at Big 12s, Mason made the finals in the 500 free, placing 14th (4:24.79).
This is Bottai's second year in a row being named to the CSC All-District team. Bottai, a finance major, is coming off a strong junior season, having just competed in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the men's D1 NCAA Championship. Botttai was also a finalist at the Big 12 Championships in the 200 free (15th, 1:35.75) and swam two personal bests at the 2025 Big 12 Championships in the 100 free (44.19) and 200 free (1:35.29).
Bahti, a senior at Arizona majoring in physiology & medical Sciences, is also no stranger to this honor, having received it in the 2022-2023 season. Last season, Bahti, a Wildcat captain, was also a recipient of Arizona's community service award. In his senior season, Bahti was a two-time individual finalist at the Big 12 Championships in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.
Rausch, a junior studying neuroscience & cognitive sciences, has, in the spirit of this honor, impressed both in the pool and in the classroom. A three-time individual finalist at the Big 12 Championships, she took home All-Big 12 honors and scored 77 points for the Cats.
Senior captain Alyssa Schwengel, who will be graduating with honors in Architectural Engineering come May, has also had a notable senior season. Schwengel competed in the women's 400 freestyle relay at the women's D1 NCAA Championships earlier this month, earning CSCAA All-American Second Team honors after the team finished 12th.
Senior diving captain Brooke Earley will be graduating with a degree in journalism this may and has left her mark on the team and the university in many ways. A two-time NCAA qualifier, Second Team All-America, three-time Big 12 Championship finalist and All-Big 12 First Team honoree, Brooke has closed out her career at Arizona with a powerful 2025.
