KANSAS CITY – Arizona women's basketball's Big 12 tournament play was short-lived after Colorado edged them out in the final minutes, winning 61-58 to advance to the semifinals. The Wildcats led for over 33 minutes of the game, with Skylar Jones and Jada Williams both scoring in double figures.
Jones led the Wildcats with 17 points, going 7-for-10 from the field while adding three rebounds and a steal. Williams contributed 13 points, dished out five assists, and grabbed two rebounds. Isis Beh dominated the glass with a career-high 14 rebounds and added nine points, three assists, and three steals.
Arizona came out strong, leading 14-7 after the first quarter and holding a 26-19 advantage late in the second. Colorado responded with a run to tie the game at 26-26 heading into halftime.
The Wildcats had a dominant third quarter, shooting 62.5% from the field and outscoring the Buffaloes 22-14 to take a 48-40 lead into the final period. However, Colorado clawed back, outscoring Arizona 21-10 in the fourth quarter. The Buffaloes took their first lead of the game with 5:24 remaining and never relinquished it.
A last-second three-point attempt by Skylar Jones to tie the game fell short, sealing Arizona's exit from the tournament.
