Wildcats Take Down Knights in Four Sets

ORLANDO, Fla. – Arizona Volleyball (10-6, 4-2 Big 12) took down UCF in four sets on Friday night in Orlando.    

The Wildcats totaled 10 blocks and eight service aces in the match. Jordan Wilson led Arizona with 22 kills and Carlie Cisneros followed with 10 kills. Britt Carlson tallied seven kills and four blocks. Defensively, Arizona was led by Adrianna Bridges and Carlson with four blocks each. Journey Tucker added three blocks to help the defense.
 
The Cats won the first set, 26-24. Arizona opened the set on a 6-0 run but allowed UCF to tie the match at 24-24 before winning the final two points of the set. Wilson led all attackers in the set with nine kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Cisneros and Ana Heath added two kills each for the offense. Arizona's defense tallied five blocks and Bridges led the defense with three blocks.
 
UCF won the second set, 25-18, to tie the match. The set started with both teams trading points before the Knights used multiple runs to take the lead. Wilson tallied four kills and three Cats – Carlson, Cisneros, and Tucker – added two kills each. Carlson and Tucker also had two blocks for the Cats but UCF hit .324 to win the set.
 
Arizona won the third set, 25-20, to take a 2-1 lead. UCF totaled five blocks but Arizona had three aces and out-hit the Knights to win the set. Arizona's offense was led by Wilson with four kill while Carlson and Cisneros added three kills each. Cisneros served two aces to help Arizona take a 2-1 lead in the match.  
 
The Cats won the fourth set, 25-17. Arizona hit .393 and served four aces to secure the match victory. The Wildcats jumped out to a 5-1 lead and never let UCF close in the set. Wilson led the attack with five kills and a .556 clip while Cisneros followed with three kills and a .600 hitting percentage for Arizona.

The Wildcats will head to Houston on Sunday, October 19 at 11 a.m. MST to close out the weekend.
