Luke Hernandez was selected as the Big 12 Men's Diver of the Week, while swimmer
Riley Botton was named the Big 12 Women's Co-Swimmer of the Week.
Hernandez, a freshman competing in his first official collegiate event, took first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. The Holly Springs, N.C. native scored a 342.85 in the 1-meter and a 335.75 in the 3-meter. Hernandez is the second Arizona diver to win a weekly award since the program joined the Big 12 Conference last season.
Botton, a senior, claimed gold in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.29 and contributed to a pair of relay golds in the 200 medley relay (21.66 split) and the 100 free relay (10.38 split). The California native also picked up a fourth place finish in the 100 freestyle to contribute to the first weekly award of her career.
The Wildcats are back in action as a team on Thursday, Oct. 30 as they kick off a two-day meet against SMU and TCU in Dallas.
