No. 21 Arizona Walks Off No. 22 Oregon in Extras to Win Series

TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 21 Wildcats won the final game of the series against the No. 22 Ducks on a walk-off fielder's choice to win the series. Jasmine Perezchica drove in Ali Blanchard with a bases-loaded fielder's choice to secure the victory for Arizona in the eighth inning.
 
Arizona recorded eight hits in the game led by Tayler Biehl and Carlie Scupin with two hits each and Olivia DiNardo hit her 10th home run of the season.
 
Oregon scored one run in the first inning on an RBI double and Arizona answered back with a one-run double from Biehl to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.
 
DiNardo broke the tie with a solo home run in the third inning to give the Cats a 2-1 lead.
 
Following three scoreless innings for both teams, Oregon tied the game in the seventh on a solo home run.
 
In Arizona's seventh extra-inning game of the season, the Wildcats held the Ducks at bay in the top of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Arizona loaded the bases and Perezchica hit a high chopper to score Blanchard from third base to walk off the Ducks.
 
Aissa Silva picked up her Pac-12-leading 18th win of the season after pitching 6.0 innings in relief. Silva struck out two Ducks and allowed just one run on four hits. Brooke Mannon started the game in the circle, allowing one run on three hits in 2.0 innings.
 
Up Next
Arizona will host Arizona State for the final Pac-12 home series of the season, beginning Friday, April 14. The Wildcats will host 2000s decade day on Friday and 2010s decade day on Saturday at Hillenbrand Stadium.
