Beh Drops 29, Cats Defeat Washington in Triple Overtime Thriller

TUCSON - Isis Beh scored a career-best 29 points on 10-of-11 shooting on Sunday, leading Arizona past Washington 90-82 in triple overtime.

Beh's 90.9% from the field ties for the second best single-game field goal percentage in program history. Her 29 points are the most by a Wildcat in a game this season.

Five Wildcats scored in double figures. In addition to Beh's 29 points, Helena Pueyo scored 22, Jada Williams dropped 11 and Breya Cunningham and Skylar Jones each scored 10. Pueyo played all 55 minutes of the game, the most in a single contest by a Pac-12 player since at least 1999-2000.

Arizona (14-12, 6-8 Pac-12) held Washington (13-12, 3-11 Pac-12) scoreless for the first 6:28 of the game and limited the Huskies to seven points in the period. An off-balance buzzer beater by Courtney Blakely secured a 21-7 lead for Arizona going into the second period.

Despite a 24-point second quarter by the Huskies, Arizona shot 77.8% in to maintain the lead at the end of the half. Beh tied her season high with by the end of the first half, scoring 11 points on 100.0% (4-of-4) shooting.

Washington put together a 12-0 run in the third quarter to go up 46-45 with 10 minutes remaining.

Jones scored five of her 10 points in the fourth quarter and concluded the day with three rebounds and four assists. Arizona outscored the Huskies 15-14 in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime.

The teams found themselves knotted up at 77 apiece through the first two overtimes, but it was all Wildcats in the third bonus period. While the Huskies put in a three-pointer at the start of triple overtime, Arizona answered with a 13-0 run to secure the victory.

Pueyo and Beh's 20-pieces marked Arizona's second game this season with a pair of 20-point scorers (Gilbert and Martinez vs. Oregon State).


Three Wildcats had at least seven rebounds, Pueyo leading the way with eight. Esmery Martinez and Breya Cunningham each grabbed seven. 

With two steals on the day, Helena Pueyo entered the top 10 in Pac-12 history in career steals with 280. She is tied for 10th with Stanford's Sonja Henning (1988-91).

Arizona will travel to Stanford, Calif., for an 8:00 p.m. MST matchup with the third-ranked Cardinal on Pac-12 Bay Area.
