TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona Soccer shutout the Arizona State Sun Devils 1-0 in their final game of the regular season.
The Cats kicked off Friday's rivalry match with a goal from freshman

Nicole Dallin, in the 11th minute, setting the tone for the first half. Arizona maintained control of the ball with a tight defense and heavy passing. Despite the Cats dominating possession, the teams were near even in first-half shots, with Arizona out-shooting the Sun Devils by just one. Goalkeeper
Olivia Ramey saved all three shots that were on target. With an early lead, the Cats held off their rivals to end the first half up 1-0.
The bottom 45 minutes were a battle from start to finish. With the Sun Devils looking to even the score and the Cats looking for the goal that would set them apart, both teams went back and forth from the offensive to the defensive throughout the half. Arizona and ASU were evenly matched on second-half shots at 5-5, however the Cats had more opportunities with five corners compared to the Sun Devils' two. In total, Arizona out-shot ASU 13-12 and led the game in shots on goal with 4-3. Ramey totaled four saves for the game.
The Wildcats will begin postseason play Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Big 12 Conference Championships in Kansas City MO.
