TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 20 Arizona improved to 22-12 with two wins on the first day of the Bear Down Fiesta. The Cats won the first game, 15-7 in six innings, against Georgetown and won the second game, 6-0 against San Diego.

In the first game of the day, the Cats walked off Georgetown in six innings on a solo home run from
Devyn Netz.
Arizona scored 15 runs on 15 hits and six Wildcats had two hits each. Netz hit two home runs in the game – a two-run homer and the solo home run to walk-off the Hoyas.
Allie Skaggs led Arizona with four RBI on a two-RBI single and a two-run home run.
Georgetown struck first with a three-run second inning. The Hoyas scored on an RBI double and a two-run home run. Arizona answered with seven runs in the bottom of the inning highlighted by Skaggs' two-RBI double and Netz's two-run blast.
The Hoyas added two more in the third on another home run. The Cats scored two in the home half of the inning on an RBI single from
Ali Ashner and a wild pitch.
Olivia DiNardo hit a solo home run – her third of the season – in the fourth to add to Arizona's lead. In the fifth,
Dakota Kennedy drove in a run on an RBI single.
Georgetown scored two more on a home run in the top of the sixth. The Cats hit three homers in the bottom of the sixth to walk-off the Hoyas.
Paige Dimler hit her fourth homer – a solo shot – and Skaggs hit a two-run home run – her eighth blast of the season. Netz followed Skaggs with her solo home run to win the game.
Brianna Hardy earned the win in the circle to improve to 1-1 on the season. She entered in the second inning in relief for
Sydney Somerndike and retired two batters before giving up a home run in the third.
Aissa Silva entered for Hardy to pick up her first career save. Silva pitched the final 4.0 innings and tied her career high of five strikeouts.

The Cats won the second game, 6-0, over San Diego to sweep the first day of the Bear Down Fiesta.

Allie Skaggs each homered in the win.
The Cats scored six runs on 10 hits and
Blaise Biringer and Skaggs each recorded a pair of hits. Tucson native
Logan Cole had her first career hit in the win.
Arizona scored three runs in the first on DiNardo's two-run homer and Biringer's RBI single. The Cats added three more in the second on Skaggs' three-run home run.
Netz (10-9) picked up her 10th win in the circle and recorded a career high 11 strikeouts against the Toreros in a compete game gem. She allowed only three hits and two walks in the game.

Arizona will close out the Bear Down Fiesta with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 1. The Cats will take on San Diego at 1 p.m. before facing Georgetown at 3 p.m. MST on Saturday.
