Balanced Attack Paces No. 12 Arizona over New Mexico Highlands in Exhibition Play

TUCSON, Ariz. - Led by 19 points from Caleb Love, the 12th ranked Arizona men's basketball team surged to a 94-65 win over New Mexico Highlands in their second exhibition game on Monday night in the McKale Center. Love shot 8 of 13 from the field, shooting 50% from behind the arc, in addition to his 4 rebounds and 3 assists on the night. 
 
Four other Wildcats including Keshad Johnson, KJ Lewis, Paulius Murauskas and Filip Borovicanin also notched double figures, each scoring 10 points.  Keshad Johnson totaled 7 rebounds, 4 assists and one steal, KJ Lewis had 6 rebounds and 5 steals and a pair of steals. Marauskas and Borovicanin came off the bench and both had a pair of 3's, Marauskas added help on the boards with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. 
 
As a team, Arizona shot 34 of 70 (.486) from the floor and made 11 of 37 from behind the arc. The Wildcats finished with 28 assists and came away with 13 steals.  
 
Arizona dominated in the paint with 46 points in the lane and they took advantage on the glass with 22 second chance points.
 
Arizona got off to a big lead early in the first half with a strong 12 point run. Through the first 12 minutes Arizona was ahead 24-10 with consistent shooting from Caleb Love early. Arizona ramped up the defense, expanding their lead with a few big dunks on the fast break. Ending the half with a 15 point lead, shooting a 50% from the field and up 40 to 25. 
The Wildcats went on to score 47 points in the second half and although the Cowboys showed strong defensive efforts, Arizona's fast-paced offense dominated the court. The Wildcats walked away with a win 94 to 65. 

Pelle Larsson and Henri Veesaar were not available to play in the game due to injury. 

Next up, Arizona will take on Morgan State at the McKale Center on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. MST and will be available on the Pac-12 Network.
