Arizona Draws at Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Oregon - The Arizona soccer team drew, 0-0, at Oregon State on Friday night to bring its overall record to 4-6-4 and 1-3-1 in conference play. Oregon State moved to 3-6-5 and 0-4-2 in the Pac-12 with the result.

Arizona controlled the majority of the first half with a total of four shots while limiting Oregon State to just two shots. Nicole Dallin had two shots in the first half, and Nyota Katembo posted the only shot on goal for the squad in the 23rd minute.

The Beavers adjusted at halftime, attacking the goal eight more times in the second period of play to finish with 10 shots on the night.

The Wildcats tallied up five more shots after halftime to finish with nine on the night.

Cameron Valladares had the best look for the Cats in the 71st minute. A through pass from Ella Hatteberg just past midfield set up Valladares for a breakaway attack with four Beavers defenders attempting to catch up. The shot from the right side of the box by Valladares was saved by Oregon State's goalkeeper Hailey Coll.

Arizona had a last-second opportunity in the 90th minute with a corner kick header attempt from Sami Baytosh. Baytosh found an open spot to jump and head the ball just inside the right post.

Hope Hisey stacked up three more saves bringing her career total to 335.

Arizona returns to action Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 pm in Tucson to take on No. 5 UCLA.
