BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 25 Arizona (32-18, 7-14 Pac-12) beat California in the series finale, 5-2.
Three Wildcats homered in the win and
Allie Skaggs and
Izzy Pacho each went 2-for-4. Skaggs led the team with three RBI.
The Cats and Bears held each other scoreless through two innings. Then, Arizona scored four in the third on two home runs. Skaggs hit her 21st homer of the season to bring in three runs. Pacho followed with a solo shot – her ninth this season – to give Arizona a 4-0 lead.
California (28-24, 8-13 Pac-12) scored two runs in the fourth on a solo home run and a sacrifice fly.
Sharlize Palacios extended Arizona's lead to three runs in the fifth with a solo home run – her 16th of the season.
Madi Elish pitched in relief for
Hanah Bowen and picked up the win in the circle to improve to 7-3 this season.
Devyn Netz entered in the sixth to get the Wildcats out of a bases-loaded jam to earn her third save of the season.
