TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (7-4) grabbed three road wins this weekend in a single match up at San Jose State and in the Cal Poly Invitational. One pair, Abby Russell and Dana Parker, went undefeated on the weekend an three pairs, Alex Parkhurst/Alana Rennie, Sarah Blacker/Maja Kaiser, and Jasmine Safar/Dilara Gedikoglu went 3-1.

The Cats pulled out their third program win and second program sweep over the San Jose State Spartans on Sunday. The match saw the debut of two new pairs, Jasmine Safar/Dilara Gedikoglu and Abby Russell/Dana Parker, who both excelled to win Arizona points in two sets on courts three and four. Two other Arizona pairs were able to clinch the points in two sets with only one advancing to a third. 

Arizona's second sweep of the weekend was against Houston Baptist where each Arizona pair was able to finish in two sets. Alex Parkhurst and Alana Rennie had the quickest match of the morning going 21-7, 21-14 to win the first Arizona point. New pair Russell/Parker and Hope Shannon/Kali Uhl finished just behind them to secure the win for the Wildcats. 

Arizona's last two matches of the weekend were a 3-2 win over Santa Clara and a 4-1 loss to Cal Poly. The match against Santa Clara saw all five courts finish in two sets with the deciding point being scored by Sarah Blacker and Maja Kaiser. Against Cal Poly, Russell and Parker finished their weekend 4-0 with Arizona's only point.

UP NEXT
The Cats will be back at Bear Down Beach on March 26-27 for the Pac-12 South Invitational. The Invitational will host nine Pac-12 teams with Arizona facing off against Washington, Cal, UCLA and Arizona State.
