TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats beat Oregon State in a five-set match to improve to 13-10 on the season.
 
Arizona's offense, which hit .301, was led by outside hitters Jaelyn Hodge and Sofia Maldonado Diaz who each had 22 kills. Maldonado Diaz also had six blocks and Hodge recorded four blocks.
 
The Wildcats' defense tallied 12.5 blocks, led by Zyonna Fellows with eight.
 
Arizona won the first set, 25-16. The Cats took an early lead and hit .500 as a team. Hodge led the attack with six kills and a .667 clip in the set and four Wildcats served aces to win the first set.
 
Oregon State evened the match with a 25-21 win in Set 2. Maldonado Diaz had six kills in the set, but Arizona tallied five service errors to give the Beavers the advantage.
 
The Wildcats took the third set, 25-23. In a back-and-forth third set, Hodge recorded eight kills to lead Arizona's offense. Maldonado Diaz had four kills and three blocks to help the Cats win the third set.
 
The Beavers won the fourth set, 25-20, to force a fifth set. Oregon State capitalized on attack errors made by the Wildcats to start the set and held the lead the rest of the set.
 
Arizona won the fifth set, 15-10. The Wildcats tallied eight kills – Hodge and Maldonado Diaz had four kills each – and hit .333 in the set to overcome the Beavers. Arizona's defense had four blocks to hold Oregon State to a .045 hitting percentage.
 
Arizona will head to UCLA on Friday, Nov. 4 and USC on Sunday, Nov. 6 before returning home to host Washington and Washington State Nov. 11 and Nov. 13.
