SEATTLE, Wash. – The Wildcats fell in three sets to No. 12 Washington on Sunday.
Jaelyn Hodge and
Sofia Maldonado Diaz each recorded double-digit kills, but the Huskies hit .396 to defeat the Wildcats.
Set 1 | Arizona - 20, Washington - 25
Hodge and Maldonado Diaz both had four kills for the Wildcats, but Washington took the first set 25-20. Arizona tallied three blocks, led by
Puk Stubbe with two block assists.
Zyonna Fellows had a solo block early on to tie the set before Washington eventually won the set.
Set 2 | Arizona - 22, Washington - 25
In the second set, Maldonado Diaz had a set-high six kills and hit .444 with a block assist. Despite Maldonado Diaz's strong attack, the Huskies won the second set 25-22. The Cats had the lead early in the set thanks to a kill by Hodge and an ace by Maldonado Diaz. The Cats led Washington again in blocks, but the Huskies hit .343 in the set to win by three points.
Set 3 | Arizona - 12, Washington - 25
Washington won the third set 25-12 to win the match. Hodge led both teams with five kills, hitting .625 in the set. The Huskies earned the first three points of the match, but the Cats couldn't catch up. Fellows recorded her second solo block of the match and combined with Stubbe for a block assist.
