TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (4-13-0, 1-9-0) fell to the Colorado Buffs (8-7-3, 3-4-3) in the second to last home match of the season. The 1-0 loss came by way of a late Colorado goal in the second half. 

The first half saw hearty offensive play from both sides, many chances were created but neither team was able to capitalize on them. Senior Ava McCray and sophomore Megan Chelf took back-to-back shots that were both blocked by Buff defenders. Junior Madison Goerlinger was able to dribble a ball half way across the pitch but her shot was met by the Colorado keeper. Keeper Hope Hisey picked up a single shot in the first 45 as the Cats went into the half at nil-nil.

Arizona turned up the heat in the second half with Jill Aguilera putting three shots on goal. Freshman Olivia Briede got a foot on the ball late in the second half but wasn't able to find the goal. Despite the Arizona defense being on high alert, the Buffs were able to send in a goal in the 59th minute. The Cats finished with shot ratio of 7-6 an on goal ratio of 4-3. Keeper Hope Hisey made an additional save in the second bringing her total to 99 on the season. Hisey leads the Pac-12 by 25 saves.

The Arizona Wildcats will play their final regular season match on Friday against in-state rival ASU. The Arizona teams will face off on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. MST.
