TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (3-0-7, 0-0-3) were defeated by the USC Trojans (8-0-2, 3-0-0) in a 4-1 finish on Sunday. Arizona was able to come out quick, scoring the first goal of the match at the 10 minute mark. USC followed quickly behind, scoring an equalizer eight minutes later. The remainder of the first half was an impressive defensive matchup as both teams fended off multiple attempts to tip the score. In the end, the Trojans were able to send in three in the back half to finish off the game 4-1.
The lone Arizona goal came from sophomore
Jenna Studer, assisted by junior
Madison Goerlinger. In a corner kick that was deflected away by a Trojan, Goerlinger was able to get a foot on the ball and send it in Studer's direction. Studer was able to find the net to score her first career goal. This was Goelinger's fifth assist of the season. Keeper
Hope Hisey made six saves to bring her total to 67 on the season.

The Arizona Wildcats head on the road for their first pair of Pac-12 road matches. They will take on Oregon on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. MST and Oregon State on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. MST.
