Cats Look For Split In L.A. on Saturday at UCLA

LOS ANGELES - Coming off a tough loss at USC on Thursday, No. 24 Arizona will look to split the weekend in Los Angeles when they take on red-hot UCLA in Pauley Pavilion on Saturday. The Bruins are tied for first in the Pac-12 while the Wildcats are 1.5 games back with one week left in the regular season.

The Wildcats enter Saturday's game coming off a 57-48 loss at USC where the Wildcats shot just 28.1 percent frm the floor and 3-of-26 from the 3-point line (11.5%). UCLA defeated Arizona State on Thursday, 75-72, to move into a first place tie at the top of the Pac-12 standings.

The last win in Pauley Pavilion for Arizona came in 2017, a 98-85 triumph.

Josh Green (back sprain) and Max Hazzard (personal) did not play on Thursday at USC. Green will not play against UCLA. Ira Lee started against USC in place of Green.
After collecting 14 offensive rebounds at USC on Thursday, the Wildcats have registered 10+ offensive rebounds in 13 of 15 Pac-12 games. Arizona leads the Pac-12 in offensive rebounding in conference play (11.67/gm) and UCLA is second (11.38/gm).

A win tonight would give head coach Sean Miller a 20-win season for the 13th time in 16 years as a head coach.

Arizona ranks 11th In the latest NET ranking (best in Pac-12) and a strength of schedule that ranks THIRD. 

In conference play, Arizona ranks second in scoring and second in fewest points allowed per game.

For the season, Arizona is the only Pac-12 team that ranks in the top three of scoring offense and defense.

Saturday marks the sixth time Arizona will play on Leap Day (Feb. 29) and is 3-2 in the five previous games.

The 1.32-to-1 assist/turnover ratio is 20th in the country, while UA leads the Pac-12 in turnovers/game (11.5)

Zeke Nnaji is coming off a 15-point, 10-rebound effort against USC on Thursday, his Pac-12 leading 13th double-double of the season. That total also ranks second all-time at Arizona among freshmen (Ayton - 24) and is second among all freshmen nationally this season. A 4-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honoree, Nnaji leads the Pac-12 in rebounding in conference play (9.7) and ranks seventh in scoring (16.00). Nnaji is also one of 10 finalists for the Karl Malone Award, handed out to the nation's top power forward.

Nico Mannion's 149 assists are the fourth-most by a freshman at Arizona and the most by a freshman in the country this season. He needs 14 assists to pass Jason Gardner to move into third place on the Arizona freshman assist list. His 5.3 assists per game rank second in the Pac-12 and his 13.6 points per game are good for 16th in the conference. He also ranks third in the Pac-12 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.01). He is second on the team with 44 made 3FG, which is also tied for seventh among all Arizona freshmen in program history.

As a starter, graduate transfer Stone Gettings has averaged 8.7p, 4.8r and shot 53.8% the last 12 games.
