TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 21 Arizona State (15-6, 6-4) got some revenge in Tempe on Friday night as they took down the Arizona Wildcats (14-7, 4-6) by a score of 60-47.
 
Aari McDonald led all scorers with 28 points and added in nine rebounds. The nation's second-leading scorer has now scored at least 20 points in five-straight games.
 
Arizona State held the Wildcats to 35% shooting and won the rebounding battle 44-28, which included 18 offensive rebounds. Kianna Ibis led the Sun Devils with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Points were at an absolute premium in the first quarter as Arizona State took a 9-7 lead into the second. The Sun Devils took a 12-point lead into the locker room after holding Arizona to just six points while scoring 16 of their own. Arizona State held the Wildcats to 25% shooting in the first half.
 
UA came back strong in the third quarter and cut ASU's lead to 39-35 heading into the fourth quarter thanks to 14 points scored by McDonald. The Sun Devils clamped down on defense again in the fourth \ and held Arizona to just 12 points while scoring 21, securing the victory.
Arizona will hit the road again this upcoming week for a rare Thursday/Saturday series against the Washington schools starting with Washington on Thursday night.
