Aguilera Ends No. 2 Stanford's Shutout Streak, Cardinal Beat Arizona 6-2

Stanford, Calif. – The Arizona Wildcats (10-6-1, 4-5-1) fought hard against No. 2 Stanford ending with a score of 6-2 in favor of the Cardinal. Despite the loss the Cats hit some major milestones against the No. 2 team in the country including ending their eight game shutout streak. The only other time Stanford gave up two goals in one Pac-12 game was against USC, who is also the only other Pac-12 team that scored on Stanford all conference season.

Play of the Match – Record Breaker 
In the 34' of the match the Cats scored their first goal of the match ending Stanford's eight game shutout streak, 831 consecutive minutes without a goal allowed. Aguilera lured the keeper out of the goal and snuck it past her off an assist by Forward forward Jada Talley.

Woman of the Match – Jill Aguilera 
Aguilera impressively earned her third brace of the season against No. 2 Stanford. Not only did she break Stanford's shut out streak, she also added two goals to Stanford keeper Katie Meyer's record. Meyer came into the match having only allowed one goal throughout the 2019 season. Aguilera's second goal of the match was a powerful shot, high into the net, off of a pass by Forward forward Brooke Wilson.
 

By The Numbers 
3 - Jill Aguilera scored her third brace of the 2019 season against Stanford, the first two being against TCU and Oregon. This is a new career high for the Junior. 

8 - The Wildcats ended Stanford's eight game shutout streak with two goals from Aguilera.
