ON THE PITCH
  • Arizona has clinched another NCAA Tournament berth, the seventh overall and the third in a row for the Wildcats. They will host TCU in the first round for the second time in Wildcat history. It is the first time in program history that the Wildcats will attend the NCAA Tournament three years in a row.

  • Arizona has played TCU two times in school history and has triumphed both times. The first was in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017 where they pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Horned Frogs, the second was in the last non-conference game of this season where they won 4-3.

  • Two Arizona Wildcats earned postseason awards on Wednesday. Forward Jada Talley was named First Team All-Pac-12 after finishing the regular season with 10 goals and eight assists, making her the first Wildcat in school history with such numbers. Freshman goalkeeper Hope Hisey was named Pac-12 All-Freshman as well.

  • Arizona Soccer (11-6-1, 5-5-1) ended the 2019 regular season with a 1-0 victory against in-state rival Arizona State. Jada Talley scored the lone goal in the 82', making it a school-record fourth year in a row Arizona has beaten ASU with all four being decided by one goal.
NCAA Berth
Arizona will be hosting TCU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. This is the first time in program history that Arizona has gone to the tournament three years in a row. The Wildcats hosted the first round of each one of those matches. This is the second time the Wildcats have played TCU in the NCAA Tournament and it is also the second time they have played each other this season.

NCAA History
Of Arizona's six previous NCAA Tournament appearances ('04, '05, '14, '15', '17, '18), the Wildcats advanced to the Second Round three times ('14, '17, '18), and have made it to the Round of 16 twice ('05, '15). The Wildcats, who are going up against TCU team for the second time this season, are 3-2 in playing a team once in the regular season and again in the postseason.

Triple Threat
Three Arizona Forwards lead the Wildcats by a substantial amount. Jada Talley, who comes in first, has 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points. Jill Aguilera, coming in second, has eight goals, two assists and 18 points, with two of her goals making Arizona only the second Pac-12 team to score on No. 2 Stanford. Brooke Wilson comes in third with six goals, four assists, and 16 points, with one of her goals being a 40-yard rocket shot against UCLA.

Record Breakers
The 2019 regular season brought many record breaking moments to the Arizona Wildcats.
This season marked the first time in program history...
  • Arizona has beaten two top-15 teams in one season.

  • Arizona has won at least 10 games in three-straight seasons.

  • An Arizona player (Jada Talley) has recorded 10 goals and eight assists.

  • Arizona has beaten ASU four seasons in a row, making this senior class the first one to beat the Sun Devils every year.

  • Arizona sold out Mulcahy Stadium, with 1,365 fans showing up to cheer on the Wildcats, a program record.

  • Arizona has made it to the NCAA Tournament three years in a row.

Building A Legacy
Tony Amato has taken the Arizona soccer program to heights it has never seen before with four NCAA Tournament appearances in the last five years. In his six years at the helm, the Wildcats have finished .500 or better with at least nine wins in each year. The expectations for the 2019 squad are no different this year with 19 returners from last year's team that hosted the first round of the NCAA Tournament and were knocked out by a quality Tennessee opponent in the second round. UA brings back 72% of their scoring from the 2018 season, including Jada Talley who led Arizona with seven goals last year.

An Unprecedented Run
Head coach Tony Amato, Arizona's winningest coach of all time, has taken the Arizona soccer program to places it has never been. For starters, he has led the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament five of his first seven years as head coach, including five of the last six seasons. Prior to his arrival, the team made the tournament just twice from 1994 to 2012. Additionally, his teams have never finished the season below .500 in his six years, while Arizona had a record of .500 or better just twice in the previous 19 seasons.
